Other things to keep in mind
Once your tax return is submitted, you can check the status of your refund by using this website. Be sure to wait 72 hours (3 days) after submitting your refund to the IRS.
The IRS is experiencing delays in processing SOME (but not all) federal tax returns due to changes in their system. Your state tax refund is not affected by this change. You can read the official notice here.
