The Los Angeles Harbor Commission has approved the expansion of the APL Terminal operated by Eagle Marine Services. The $196 million project will include:
- The addition of 1,250 feet of new wharf
- Truck lane upgrades
- New exit gate
- Improved terminal access
- Dedicated refrigerated storage area for containers
- Infrastructure to support automated operations in the future
- Enhanced yard equipment that is environmentally friendly
In total, the project will raise the terminal size to 347 acres and will include 41 acres of backland.
“The Port of Los Angeles will invest $1.2 billion over the next five years to improve its facilities and transportation infrastructure and to green its operations, said Geraldine Knatz, executive director.”
