Help us help others this holiday season. The ILWU Credit Union is collecting toys for one of our favorite organizations, Interval House. The organization provides assistance to victims and individuals at risk of domestic and sexual violence, specifically those in undeserved communities. The organization was founded in 1979 and has grown to offer programs/services available in over 70 languages. 99% of all Interval House staff are former victims and survivors that are truly giving back.
To roll things out, we’ve asked all interested ILWUCU staff members to bring in a new, unwrapped toy for children and families currently staying at Interval House shelters.
Once the donated items arrive at the shelter, parents will have the opportunity to choose and wrap toys for their children. The objective is to provide the feeling of a mobile toy store to the shelter so that families participate in this holiday tradition – all free of cost.
We’ve begun our efforts at the office and now we look to all of you (our members and friends) to assist with the rest. If you’re interested in participating, please bring in a new, unwrapped toy to our office before Friday, December 16.
“We are all so thrilled that the ILWU Credit Union is getting involved with us this holiday season” stated Janine Limas, Community Education Director at Interval House.
We look forward to making the holidays memorable for all families of Interval House, and we hope to share this experience with you as well. Contact us today to learn how you can get involved or just drop-off a new, unwrapped toy at our office.
Let the holiday cheer and giving begin!
