This week has been a very touching one for us. Thanks to your kind efforts and support, we raised $1200 for the Interval House Holiday Tree of Hope. $600 alone came from our members, the other $600 came from us as we promised to match each donation. In addition to the monetary contribution, we collected a bin full of toys for the children serviced by Interval House. ILWU Credit Union staff and members came together to fulfill amazing tasks and complete a memorable week.
The holiday drive concluded last week, but the warmness of the season had not reached its peak. We visited Interval House two days ago (12/21/11) and were graciously welcomed by their friendly staff. We walked in with toys, check in hand and left with an extremely rewarding feeling and new perspective.
We ask each and everyone of you (our members and readers) to do something special this holiday season: give! Give your time, a donation, a random act of kindness to a stranger or cause. Make the holidays better for someone or an organization, or pledge to make 2012 a selfless year that will allow others to hope, do well and good unto others. Imagine the possibilities if each us initiate a cycle of giving and growth.
